"What's on my nightstand" is a feature I like to read in Vanity Fair. My pile of books could be a nightstand. I thought if I took a picture of them, it might be a first step to reading one.
Any thoughts on where I should start?
Have you read any of these?
Do you make time to read books? How?
I read the Domino book a section at a time. It's a book you consult rather than read all at once. At least, that's what design books are for me.
ReplyDeleteThe Woman at the Washington Zoo was just okay. Frankly, I thought it would be better. It took me a long time to read because it felt more like work than reading for enjoyment.
I've heard Minders of Make-Believe is good, but I haven't read it.
I really liked Pictures At A Revolution. That would go towards the top of my list.
And, Street Gang is actually next on my list after I finish Barbara Kingsolver's The Lacuna.
As for when I read, it happens instead of sleeping, while I dry my hair, on the subway, while waiting for friends, and it's usually the reason why I'm ten minutes late for almost everything ... because I was reading.
I haven't read any of the books in your pile Kitty. I read alot it is theonly way I can switch my brain off from the days work at night. I have been reading mysteries for the last year - I have read most of elizabeth George's books in the last year. I think they're good. I just finished What Came Before He Shot Her. I thought it was fantastic. In the past I read classics - Somerset Maugham's 'Of Human Bondage' was my favourite book for a long time. For a bit of a laugh I have really enjoyed Ben Elton's books. I'd like to go to bed right now and read my book. I read every night until I fall asleep and the book falls onto my face(keeps Doug amused!) Happy reading Kitty!

I read myself to sleep at night... and I am working my way thru all my magazines before I can start another book. I like Domino and am sad that magazine is gone.
